Lovely. Use with mince, or sausages.
Ingredients
Makes 0 servings
- 2 medium (or 1 large) red onion.
- 1 clove garlic
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Small knob of butter
- 1 tbsp plain flour
- 350 ml beef stock
- 2 tsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp balsamic vinegar
- Pepper to taste
Preparation
1. Add butter and olive oil to pan, melt butter over a low heat
2. Add onion, sautee on very low heat for 5 minutes (do not brown onions).
3. Add garlic
4. Continue until onions are soft and transparent
5. Slowly add the flour, stirring well.
6. Stir in the stock, soy sauve, balsamic vinegar, pepper. Mixed herbs can be added if you wish (Decent pinch).
7. Bring to boil, then simmer for 20-30 minutes.
8. Stir every 5 minutes or so, until gravy thickens.
