Not sure what you would call this dish. Maybe some kind of meaty pasta with sauce.
It came from a recipe book somewhere, so I don't claim to own it...
Ingredients
Makes 0 servings
- 1.2 kilograms Lamb shoulder steaks (trimmed)
- 2 x 400 gram Cans Whole peeled tomatoes
- 4 cloves of garlic (chopped finely)
- ¼ cup Olive oil
- 2 tablespoons fresh Oregano
- Salt & Pepper
- 1 ¼ cups Orzo (or another fine grained pasta like Risoni)
- 2 cups hot water
- 2 cups chicken stock
Preparation
Preheat oven to 190C (360F). Place lamb in dish. Mix tomatoes, garlic, oil, oregano & stock. Pour over lamb. Sason with salt & pepper & place in oven. Bake for 1 hour, turning lamb once.
Remove from oven - add Orzo & water, then return to oven. Reduce temperature to 170C (340F) & bake for a further 20-30 minutes.
